Modified Cooking is a cookbook brand that experiments with how design can provide assistance for newly made homeowners on how to cook with affordable and/or organic ingredients. This project is intended for young adults who may not have an understanding of how to cook or are intimidated by cooking. This project is important because a large percentage of young adults within Gen Z may not have an understanding of how to go about creating flavorful and easy meals without relying on their parents cooking.
When I initially started creating this cookbook, I wanted to best relate my cooking experience with recipes that were not overly complicated and that I felt personally resonated with me. The recipes that I had in mind helped me better understand the personality behind the cooking process. Your favorite recipe could be online or perhaps it's your grandmother's home made lasagna recipe. Whatever, it may be it is personal to you.
The illustrations within this cookbook are designed in a way that I personally see the meal. Each element plays a key factor in ultimately designing and shaping the meal for what it is. Someone could take the Mongolian Beef recipe for example and put their own twist on it as it is personal to them.
